Psychologist and happiness trainer with 12 years of experience shared effective tips to help live emotions and feel relief.
Unfortunately, we are increasingly witnessing quarrels and scandals among our own people. Accusations, insults, passive aggression – these are attempts to “splash” their emotions. Such methods of living emotions are destructive and lead to destruction.
Here are some ways to live your emotions constructively
1. Allow yourself to feel. Do not forbid anger, sadness and do not force yourself to be strong when there is no strength to do so. No, this does not mean “souring” and falling into the position of a victim. It means connecting with yourself and being honest. Studies show that it is enough to recognize and define an emotion to reduce its intensity by 50%.
2. Speak your feelings out loud. You can do it yourself or find a person who can listen to you environmentally.
Literally: “I feel fear, anger and sadness.”
3. Write down your feelings on paper or try to draw them.
Take your time and, without taking your hands off the paper, “pour out” everything you want to live and let go.
Scream therapy is a very effective technique. Its essence is that you literally shout out all the negative feelings and emotions.
5. Sports, dance, massage.
Working with the body helps a lot. If you haven’t “awakened” your body in a long time, now is the time to do so. Self-massage or massage by a friend / family member is highly recommended.
6. Breathing techniques.
A) “Breathing in a square”: inhale / hold your breath / exhale / hold your breath. All actions are the same in duration, for example: 4 counts inhale, 4 – delay, 4 – exhale, 4 – delay, and so on in a circle.
B) “Exhalation of relief”. Remember how you exhale when a question is resolved: fu-u-u-uh. And now try to breathe like this with relief for one or two minutes.
Each time you take a shower, imagine washing away all the heaviness and pain you have accumulated. Help yourself with your hands to cleanse yourself of feelings and emotions that you are ready to let go.
