Face building didn’t start yesterday; the fashion for it arises in bursts. It all started in the first half of the 20th century, when plastic surgeon Reinhold Benz came up with a set of exercises for his friend, an aging ballerina, that would help her stay beautiful for a long time. No one knows for certain whether this was actually the case or whether it was all a marketing legend. The next wave of Face building fame came in the 80s, when beautician Carol Maggio popularized facial gymnastics in the United States.

About the essence of the method

The meaning of face building is to work with the muscles of the face. They must be trained in the same way as the muscles of the body – and not be allowed to lose their tone, become lethargic. There are different schools: some focus on aggressive muscle pumping. Someone is closer to the removal of clamps and complete relaxation. I have an integrated approach. Actually, I created my own technique, because I tried everything myself and appreciated the weak points.

I am 32, I have been practicing exercises for more than 10 years and often hear in my address that my clearly traced cheekbones are the result of resection of Bish’s lumps. Of course, I did not do any operations. Everything is the result of regular exercise.

About the goals and results of face building

The main goal is prevention, prevention of aging. Many very young people are engaged in it. Those who are prone to ptosis, to the appearance of a double chin, to wrinkles come to face building. The results of face-building are especially noticeable if the face has already “floated”.

The swelling decreases after just a couple of workouts: from the work of the muscles, the lymph flow is activated, and the face looks less swollen. Face-building helps to outline the cheekbones, sharpen the contour of the chin, draw the angle of the lower jaw, which often “floats” with age. Exercise will really lift your cheeks and raise your eyebrows.

Smooth out horizontal and vertical creases on the forehead. Raise the drooping corners of the mouth. The hardest part is with the center of the face – there are a lot of muscles – and with the area around the eyes. But on average, after 2.5 months of stable exercises, changes in all zones are visible.

About mimic patterns

We teach clients to change mimic patterns, as a result, they stop wrinkling their foreheads, making grimaces, laughing so as to overextend the nasolabial area. After all, daily facial expressions leave imprints: if you constantly wrinkle your eyebrows, then sooner or later a hall will appear.

Therefore, in the classroom we work with a mimic map, where participants mark their habits – wrinkle their foreheads, curl the corners of their lips, etc. There is a specific exercise for every habit. I advise all clients to control facial expressions during sports: all grimaces and grimaces leave a mark. A children’s horror story is at work: “Do not play, otherwise you will stay.”

Proven effectiveness

Society is divided into those who believe in the benefits of exercise for the muscles of the face, and those who deny its benefits. The second category includes plastic surgeons and injection specialists. Which, in general, is understandable. Nevertheless, scientists periodically conduct studies that prove the benefits of exercise. We see results on our students.
