One World Trade Center

The tower was erected on the site of the former twin towers, which were attacked by terrorist attacks on September 11, 2001. At the moment, it is the tallest building in New York, its height with the spire is 541m. Construction began in April 2006 and ended on 10 May 2013 with the installation of a spire.

Broadway

Broadway is one of the most unusual streets in the world. In a sense, its founders are considered to be the Algonquin Indians, who made their way through the dense forests of Manhattan from south to north of the island, which was transformed into the “Broad Road”.

The Woolworth Building

The Woolworth Building rises on Broadway. The building was commissioned by the American entrepreneur Frank Woolworth by the architect Cass Gilbert in the Gothic style. At the time of completion, this tower was the tallest building in New York, and one of the most unusual.

The Metropolitan Museum of Art

Among the many attractions of New York, one of the largest art museums in the world, the Metropolitan Museum of Art, occupies an important place. It was founded in 1870 by The Union League Club of New York, a group of businessmen and art lovers.

The Guggenheim Museum

The museum appeared in the late 60s, when the copper-coal king Solomon Guggenheim in his declining years discovered all the charm of patronage. In the halls of the museum there is a record large collection of paintings of the late 19th and 20th centuries (about 6,000 masterpieces), including works by Kandinsky, Chagall, Pollack, Serre, Warhol, Van Gogh, Gauguin and Picasso.

Fifth Avenue

Fifth Avenue is one of the most famous streets in the world, it is located (as many people know) in Manhattan. Here you can find not only exclusive boutiques of world famous brands, and there are plenty of them there, but also many museums and architectural attractions.

The Statue of Liberty

Perhaps, not only a Native American, but also any inhabitant of our planet, when asked what is the symbol of the United States, without hesitation, will answer: the Statue of Liberty. It is no coincidence that it is this monument that we see more often than others in American cinema.

Times Square

To visit New York and not look at the world famous Times Square ?! You will never forgive yourself for this! The symbol of America, a powerful financial and cultural power, its pulsing heart, emitting the glow of neon and street lamps, is located in the very center of Manhattan.

Wall Street

Who does not know this world-famous street in New York! Her name is strongly associated with the financial power of the United States, and has already become a household name: this is the name of the entire stock market of America. Narrow and rather short, just over a kilometer, it stretches from Broadway to the East River.

Flatiron Building

The famous “Iron” (“flatiron” in English) is located at the intersection of Broadway, Fifth Avenue and East 23rd Street. As you might guess, it got its name from the shape of the building, which really resembles this household item.

Central Park

Various free performances and concerts are constantly held here, which are given not only by street artists, but also by groups that have long made a name for themselves; in the Belvedere castle (where the observatory is located) and theaters, various competitions and educational programs for children are held.

The Empire State Building

Every tourist who comes to Manhattan considers it his duty to climb the Empire State Building. However, it is not at all necessary to do it the way King Kong did in one of the Hollywood films. To visit the observation deck on the 86th floor of this American skyscraper, it is enough to pay $ 20 at the box office.
