CrossFit is a circular training (that is, exercises are constantly repeated, as if closing in a chain), which consists in performing a certain set of exercises in the shortest possible time. It differs fundamentally from conventional circuit training.
Firstly, the complex uses loads aimed at developing several physical qualities at once, such as strength, endurance and agility. In this regard, crossfit training is usually divided into three components: weightlifting, gymnastics and cardio.
Secondly, these workouts do not use isolated exercises, either on simulators or with free weights. In CrossFit, workouts are as functional as possible. The training also includes basic weightlifting exercises. Just do not be intimidated by the word “weightlifting”: squats, familiar to every woman, also apply to them. True, you can’t do without more complex exercises. Get ready to do deadlifts, presses, snatches, jerks, lifts and combinations of these exercises with kettlebells, barbells, and dumbbells. They also include exercises with their own weight (bars, horizontal bar, rings, jumping, jumping, lunges) and endurance exercises – this is running, jumping rope, cardiovascular equipment, swimming, cycling.
Third, there is no competitive exercise in CrossFit. In tournaments, athletes can perform different exercises and their combinations. Training is based on working out different physical qualities on different days of training. For example, such a combination: strength and dexterity, endurance and dexterity, endurance and strength. The crossfit training concept can be called one of the best in the development of general fitness. An individual complex is selected based on the capabilities of the athlete and the equipment of the hall. In terms of equipment and size, the CrossFit gyms are slightly different from the usual ones. But let’s not go into such details yet!
