The stress faced by many people has pushed the issue of self-care and health into the background. However, you can implement habits that are good for the nervous system, which were shared by the client-centered consultant of the Altera Psychological Center.
They will really support you and your mental health:
1. Keep a routine
Hygiene, sleep, cleaning, cooking, balanced diet, time with children, sports, training, work and more.
2. Follow the rules of information hygiene
Set aside a period for reading the news (20-30 minutes a day). Leave 1-2 verified sources for information.
3. Be physically active
Physical activity reduces stress levels. It’s not just about sports. A walk lasting more than 30 minutes, work in the garden, cleaning the house – all this is an important activity.
4. Do things that bring joy and satisfaction
It seems that this is not the time, but small joys will give you the strength to fight on. Favorite food or coffee in the park, a phone conversation with friends, running or hiking, a favorite movie or TV series – anything that makes your eyes light up.
5. Try relaxation exercises
Meditation, breathing exercises, a warm bath, yoga – everything that will restore your peace of mind.
6. Spend time with loved ones and help others
People feel safe when they spend time with others. Find a way that is best for you to support others (talking / meeting with family, volunteering, financial support, etc.). If you do not currently have the strength to support others – take care of yourself, this is a big step.
