We consume an incredible amount of food throughout our lives. But among their huge variety, there are also those that can pose a huge danger to one person, when they do not harm another at all. The reason is obvious – allergy (pathological reaction of the immune system to a particular food).
“When an allergen enters the body, the immune system reacts aggressively, attacking it like bacteria or a virus,” explains Pamela Friedman, CEO of CV Skinlabs. “This triggers a release of histamine, which leads to symptoms such as sneezing, itchy eyes, and sometimes breathing problems.”
It is important to remember that the only way to identify an allergen is by testing. A blood test and biopsy is often sufficient to diagnose food intolerance. Allergy symptoms that should not be covered up include skin redness, rashes, swelling of the lips and throat, coughing, dizziness, breathing problems, and even loss of consciousness. Allergy is insidious in that it can develop in a completely healthy person, one has only to make itself felt to stress or to break down the hormonal system.
Any food can cause allergies, but as it turns out, there are 7 main allergens:
– Milk
– Eggs
– Citrus fruits
– Nuts
– Soy
– Wheat
– A fish
However, if you do not have an intolerance to allergenic foods, then this does not mean that they should be avoided. They contain many useful substances: milk – a source of calcium, fish – healthy fats, soy and eggs – protein, nuts and peanuts – vitamins of groups B, D, E. Remember, when choosing products, you should always rely on the recommendations of a doctor and not set yourself diagnosis yourself.
