Sailor hat or sailor cap has been an element of sailors’ form for centuries. At different times, its appearance has undergone considerable changes – its shape has changed, ribbons or pompoms of different colors have been added. Thus, representatives of the French navy of the XIX century wore a hat with a characteristic red pompom, and the Belgians of the century later wore a similar cap decorated with ribbons and blue pompoms.
Today, the shape of the sailor hat inspires many designers to create a new interpretation of the famous accessory. This summer, several designers presented their version of the sailor hat. This headdress will be a great alternative to the usual hats or caps – it is designed for relaxed everyday images from a weightless linen dress to a shirt carelessly tucked into jeans.
